Resilient Supply Chains Vital in Critical Minerals Race: Reddy
News: G Kishan Reddy said resilient supply chains are critical to strategic security as global competition for key minerals intensifies.
Speaking at the launch of the second tranche of Exploration Licence (EL) auctions, he stressed India’s push to reduce import dependence and achieve mineral self-reliance under the Viksit Bharat vision.
The government auctioned 11 exploration blocks across eight states, covering rare earth elements, gold, diamond and copper.
Reddy highlighted reforms including an expanded role for NMET, greater private participation and the launch of the GSI’s Next Generation Digital Portal to strengthen data-driven exploration. The move aims to build a robust ecosystem for critical and deep-seated minerals, supporting long-term mineral security.
