CONCOR Kathuwas Dispatches First Honda Motorcycle Rake
News: Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) dispatched its first rake of Honda motorcycle containers from its multimodal logistics park at Kathuwas, Rajasthan (terminal code CMLK), with the milestone reported on October 24, 2026.
The dispatch followed a strategic review with Honda’s export, domestic, and finance teams covering transport, storage, and cargo coordination.
Honda’s Tapukara plant has begun routing export containers directly through ICD Kathuwas, replacing earlier movements via Manesar and other inland depots, with the initial stream expected to reach about 300 TEUs a month and longer-term potential put at around 1,500 TEUs monthly. Honda announced plans in March 2026 for a third production line at Tapukara, due in 2028, which would add 670,000 units a year for a total capacity of 2.01 million units, backed by about Rs 1,500 crore in investment and over 2,000 expected jobs.
CONCOR and Honda have not disclosed destination, shipment value, or a fixed sailing schedule for the new rail link. For automotive exporters in the Rajasthan-Haryana belt, a direct rail link from the plant gate to a CONCOR terminal removes a road-transport leg to a farther inland depot, which can tighten scheduling and improve shipment visibility, though the companies say progress will be measured by whether the rake schedule holds up over repeat movements rather than by this first dispatch alone.
