JNPA Signs Landmark MoU as India Explores Hyperloop
News: In a landmark move for India’s maritime and logistics sector, the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) has signed an MoU with Vadhvan Port Pvt. Ltd.
(VPPL) and TUTR Hyperloop Pvt. Ltd. to evaluate Hyperloop technology for high-speed cargo transport. Formalized in the presence of Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, this marks India’s first official port initiative exploring Hyperloop.
The project aims to cut transit times, boost turnaround efficiency, and enable sustainable, low-emission logistics.
By offering faster, energy-efficient cargo movement, Hyperloop could ease congestion, strengthen global trade competitiveness, and position India as a frontrunner in next-generation logistics.
If realized, it may set a global benchmark for integrating Hyperloop into port-led supply chains.
