NATO Official Calls on Businesses to Strengthen Supply Chain

News: NATO’s top military official, Dutch Adm. Rob Bauer, has urged U.S. and European businesses to prepare for wartime scenarios to reduce vulnerabilities to Russia and China.

Speaking at the European Policy Centre, Bauer emphasized the need for companies to assess their readiness for war and their role in preventing it. He highlighted the risks of overdependence on nations that could disrupt supply chains during conflicts,

citing China’s dominance in rare earth metals and medical chemicals as examples. Bauer also referenced disruptions caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the looming expiry of a gas pipeline deal. With global supply chains still recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, Bauer stressed that economic strength is key to winning wars, urging businesses to adapt.
