India's Container Prices Soar 27% Amid Global Tensions

Green and Digital Shipping Corridor

India and Singapore have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to establish the Singapore–India Green and Digital Shipping Corridor (GDSC), a major initiative aimed at advancing maritime decarbonisation and digital transformation.

The partnership will strengthen cooperation in developing and adopting zero or near-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emission technologies while promoting digital solutions across the shipping industry.

The agreement was signed during Singapore Maritime Week 2025 by representatives of India’s Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA). Indian Ports, Shipping and Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said the initiative will deepen maritime cooperation under the India-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The corridor is expected to enhance sustainable shipping, boost maritime trade, and accelerate innovation in the global shipping sector.
