Mundra Port Gains Direct Connectivity to Jeddah Through New Red Sea Route

Mundra Port Connected to Jeddah via New Red Sea Shipping Service

News: Saudi Arabia’s Ports Authority (Mawani) has launched a new Red Sea shipping service connecting Jeddah Islamic Port, India’s Mundra Port, and the Port of Djibouti, strengthening trade links between the Middle East, South Asia, and East Africa.

The new “SRS” service has a capacity of up to 2,144 TEUs and is expected to increase container movement while improving supply chain efficiency across the region.

The route aims to facilitate smoother cargo flows through the Red Sea, one of the world’s busiest maritime corridors, while supporting Saudi Arabia’s export growth and logistics performance. The initiative is part of the Kingdom’s National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which seeks to establish Saudi Arabia as a global logistics hub connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe and enhancing its position in international trade networks.
