News: J P Nadda urged India’s pharmaceutical industry to play a central role in emerging global supply chains by prioritising quality, reliability and innovation.
Speaking at the Global Pharmaceutical Quality Summit, he said trust and strong quality systems will define leadership as supply chains diversify after the pandemic and geopolitical shifts.
Nadda highlighted the use of AI for disease detection, predictive diagnostics and improved healthcare outreach.
He also pointed to major initiatives including the ₹10,000 crore Biopharma Shakti Initiative to boost biopharmaceutical manufacturing and the ₹5,000 crore PRIP scheme to support research in medicines, vaccines and medical technologies.
He emphasised that regulatory excellence, skilled talent and quality-driven processes are key to sustaining India’s position as a global pharmaceutical hub.
