India Aims to Triple Air Cargo Handling Capacity by 2030

News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at the IATA AGM and World Air Transport Summit in New Delhi, unveiled a bold vision to position India as a global aviation and logistics hub.

He announced plans to triple air cargo capacity from 3.5 to 10 million metric tons by 2030, highlighting massive growth in aviation infrastructure and policy innovation.

Modi emphasized India’s rising role in the global supply chain, development of futuristic air cargo hubs, and multimodal logistics integration. Key reforms include 100% FDI in MRO, the Cape Town Convention, and GST rationalisation.

He stressed sustainability, drone logistics, and digital innovation, urging the world to see India not just as a market, but a leader in global aviation value chains.
