Delhi Tightens Emission Norms
News: Delhi has tightened pollution controls with direct implications for truckers and logistics operators across the NCR. With Delhi’s AQI in the “very poor” zone, only BS-VI compliant vehicles are now allowed to enter the city under GRAP-III and GRAP-IV.
Non-BS-VI trucks, buses, and commercial vehicles registered outside Delhi are barred, while vehicles carrying construction material are fully prohibited during GRAP-IV.
Fuel stations will deny petrol, diesel, or CNG to vehicles without a valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate, enforced through camera-based checks.
The restrictions impact large fleets in Gurugram, Noida, and Ghaziabad, affecting millions of older vehicles. Authorities are using ANPR systems and border checks, signalling strict enforcement and pushing transporters toward cleaner, compliant fleets.
