JSW Infrastructure Gets LOI to Set Up First ICD in Ballari Region

JSW Port Logistics, the group’s subsidiary, has already been running interim operations at a rail siding on the site since March 2026. The facility will handle both import and export cargo for Ballari’s industrial base, a region with significant steel and mining output that currently lacks dedicated container-handling infrastructure. JSW’s logistics division reported revenue growth from Rs 1.38 billion to Rs 2.37 billion year-on-year in Q1 FY2027, and the company is simultaneously expanding container capacity at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhas Dock. For exporters and manufacturers in the Ballari-Hospet industrial belt, a local ICD removes a long-standing gap, cutting the distance cargo must travel to reach container handling and customs clearance facilities.
