India and Oman to Finalize Free Trade Pact
News: India and Oman are set to sign a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) today, aimed at unlocking major opportunities across sectors such as textiles, footwear, automobiles, gems and jewellery, renewable energy, and auto components,
Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said. Speaking at the India–Oman Business Forum in Muscat.
He highlighted Oman’s strategic role as a gateway to GCC, Europe, Central Asia, and Africa.
Negotiations for the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) began in November 2023. The FTA will focus on four priorities: energy transition, infrastructure and logistics, food security, and startup collaboration in deep tech, AI, and logistics software.
