India US Seal Rare Earths Supply Deal
News: India and the United States have signed a strategic agreement on critical minerals and rare earths to strengthen supply chains for semiconductors, electric vehicles, clean energy and defence technologies.
The pact, signed during the Quad Foreign Ministers’ meeting, covers cooperation across mining, processing, recycling and investment.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said the framework will help build resilient and diversified supply chains, while US Secretary of State Marco Rubio highlighted the importance of securing long-term access to critical resources. The agreement comes amid global efforts to reduce dependence on China-dominated rare earth and critical mineral supply chains, reinforcing strategic and economic cooperation between the two
