Hyderabad, Brussels Airports Target Europe Cargo Link
News: GMR Hyderabad International Airport and Brussels Airport have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen India-Europe air cargo connectivity and explore opportunities for new cargo routes.
The partnership will cover route development, market intelligence, cargo best practices and engagement with airlines and freight forwarders.
Both airports will assess cargo demand and commodity flows to develop potential business cases for stronger Hyderabad-Europe connectivity. A major focus of the agreement is pharmaceutical and life sciences logistics. Hyderabad has a strong pharmaceutical and life sciences manufacturing base, while Brussels Airport has specialised infrastructure and expertise in temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical cargo and cold-chain handling.
The two airports will also exchange knowledge and explore direct and onward connections to European markets through Brussels. For pharma exporters and freight forwarders, the cooperation could create new opportunities for more efficient air freight connectivity between Hyderabad and Europe, although no new direct service has been announced yet.
