New Move to Upgrade Trade Pact
News: India and South Korea have agreed to resume talks to upgrade their CEPA trade pact, aiming to boost bilateral trade from $27 billion to $50 billion by 2030.
Leaders Narendra Modi and Lee Jae-myung emphasised stronger cooperation in critical technologies, energy and advanced manufacturing.
Both sides plan to build resilient supply chains “from chips to ships” and institutionalise an economic security dialogue. Key sectors include shipbuilding, steel, clean energy and critical minerals.
