PM Modi to Open New Guwahati Airport Terminal
News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new terminal at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati on December 20, 2025, during a two-day visit to Assam.
Built at a cost of ₹4,000 crore, the nature-themed terminal draws inspiration from the North East’s biodiversity and cultural heritage.
The facility is expected to significantly enhance passenger capacity, operational efficiency, and regional connectivity, strengthening Guwahati’s role as the North East’s key aviation hub.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will also unveil an 80-foot statue of Gopinath Bordoloi and attend foundation-laying events, reinforcing the government’s focus on infrastructure, tourism, logistics, and economic growth in Assam.
