Kerala Approves Two Multi-Modal Logistics Parks

News: The Kerala government has granted in-principle approval for two multi-modal logistics parks (MMLPs) linked to Vizhinjam International Seaport, advancing proposals from Container Corporation of India and Central Warehousing Corporation.

CONCOR plans a 25-acre facility at Kottukal, while CWC has sought up to 50 acres at Amaravila along the railway corridor.

Lease terms include fixed rentals, annual escalation and revenue sharing.

The projects aim to strengthen Vizhinjam’s transshipment ecosystem.

The port handled 1.34 million TEUs and 670 vessels by December 2025, with capacity set to expand from 1.5 million to 5.7 million TEUs by 2028.
