India Tests Mag Rail Technology
News: India is piloting MagRail technology at Deendayal Port to modernize port logistics and promote sustainable, efficient freight transport.
A collaboration between Poland’s Nevomo, UAE-based DP World, and Deendayal Port, the project involves deploying magnetic rail on a 750-meter track.
MagRail enables autonomous cargo movement on existing tracks using linear motors and magnetic suspension—reducing CO2 emissions and infrastructure costs.
The system supports India’s net-zero goals and promises faster deliveries, cost savings, and job creation. If successful, this pilot could lead to large-scale adoption across India and Asia, setting a new global standard in green port logistics.
