US, India Near Deal on Critical Minerals
News: Sergio Gor said the US and India are close to finalising a critical minerals agreement, with a major announcement expected soon. The deal aims to secure supply chains for advanced manufacturing, energy systems and emerging technologies.
Speaking at the India Today Conclave 2026, Gor highlighted recent “breakthroughs” in bilateral ties, including a new trade agreement, trusted technology cooperation and stronger strategic coordination.
He emphasised that the partnership is evolving beyond tariffs toward securing critical resources and building resilient supply chains.
The agreement aligns with a broader push for fair trade, diversified sourcing and economic security, reinforcing India’s role as a key partner in the Indo-Pacific.
