DHL Launches AI Customs Tool TradeNavigator
News: DHL Global Forwarding has launched TradeNavigator, an AI-powered tool within its TradeConnect platform that lets customers query customs declaration data using natural language and receive instant analytics on duty spending, clearance efficiency, and tariff exposure.
The platform aggregates customs data from more than 75 countries into one environment, letting users drill down to individual declaration line items.
In pilot testing, DHL said the tool could surface patterns and potential declaration inconsistencies across multiple countries within seconds. Stated benefits include identifying the highest-cost customs jurisdictions and product categories, revealing clearance bottlenecks and cycle-time inefficiencies, and converting customs data from an administrative burden into usable business intelligence.
For importers and exporters managing multi-country trade compliance, including Indian businesses navigating shifting tariff regimes, a tool that surfaces duty-cost patterns and clearance delays in plain language could meaningfully cut the time trade compliance teams spend manually auditing customs data across jurisdictions.
