India Afghanistan Launch New Air Freight Corridor
News: India and Afghanistan have agreed to launch a new Air Freight Corridor connecting Kabul with Delhi and Amritsar to strengthen bilateral trade and ensure smoother movement of essential goods.
The decision was finalised during Afghan Commerce Minister Nooruddin Azizi’s week-long visit to New Delhi, where he met External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal.
Both countries also revived the Joint Working Group on Trade, agreed to post Commercial Representatives in each other’s embassies, and set up a Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Discussions with major Indian trade bodies focused on agricultural products, pharmaceuticals, textiles and long-term supply chain stability. India reaffirmed its commitment to rebuilding a strong, mutually beneficial economic partnership.
