Indian Exports to US Surge 23% in November
News: India’s merchandise exports to the US jumped 22.61% to USD 6.98 billion in November, driven by supply-chain realignment and holiday-season inventory restocking, according to GTRI.
The rebound followed a two-month contraction after the US imposed 50% tariffs on Indian goods. Imports from the US also rose sharply, increasing 38.29% to USD 5.25 billion.
Electronics and machinery remained the top export categories. GTRI noted that the recovery reflects adjustment to a tougher tariff environment rather than sustained growth.
Founder Ajay Srivastava cautioned that the outlook remains fragile, as recent gains are largely based on short-term coping strategies amid ongoing trade uncertainty.
