Global Air Cargo Demand Up

News: Global air cargo demand rose 5.5% year-on-year in November 2025, driven by strong holiday-season shipments and tight delivery timelines, according to IATA.

International traffic led growth, up 6.9%, while global cargo capacity increased 4.7%. Demand was supported by emerging markets, Middle East growth, and trade re-routing, offsetting weakness in the Americas amid US tariff adjustments.

Economic signals were mixed: global goods trade grew 2%, manufacturing sentiment improved, but jet fuel prices rose 5.9% due to refinery disruptions.

Regionally, Africa (+15.6%) and Asia-Pacific (+10.3%) led gains, while North America (-1.6%) and Latin America (-4.8%) declined. Asia-centric trade lanes remained strong, and load factors stayed stable at 49.1%.
