Deendayal Port Crosses 100 Million Tonnes of Cargo, 51 Days Ahead of Last Year’s Pace

Deendayal Port Crosses 100 Million Tonnes

Deendayal Port cargo throughput

News: Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) at Kandla crossed 100 million tonnes (MMT) of cargo throughput for the financial year on October 6, 2026, reaching the mark 51 days earlier than it did in FY 2025-26. DPA describes it as the earliest the port has hit the 100 MMT level.

The port attributed the faster pace to improvements across cargo-handling operations, infrastructure capacity, and productivity, along with contributions from stakeholders across its operations.

Deendayal Port, on the Gulf of Kutch, handles both export-import and coastal cargo for industrial and commercial markets across its hinterland, and the authority says further infrastructure and capacity-expansion work is underway.

For shippers and manufacturers routing cargo through Kandla, reaching this volume milestone well ahead of the prior year’s pace signals improving berth productivity and turnaround times at one of India’s busiest gateway ports, a relevant data point when planning shipment schedules through the west coast’s bulk and EXIM corridors.
