Wet-Leased Freighters Add Dedicated Cargo Capacity Across 125-Plus Destinations
News: Fly Dubai is expanding its air cargo operations with the launch of dedicated freighter operations from Dubai on October 1, 2026.
The airline will introduce three Boeing 737-800 freighters through a wet-lease agreement with SolitAir, with each aircraft providing up to 23,000 kg of additional cargo capacity per flight.
The freighters will be based at Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) and complement cargo carried in the belly holds of flydubai’s passenger fleet. The new dedicated freighter fleet will support scheduled freight services and ad-hoc charter operations across more than 125 destinations in Africa, Central Asia, Europe, the GCC, the Middle East and South and Southeast Asia. The air freight network will handle specialised cargo including pharmaceuticals, perishables, live animals, aerospace components, express shipments and dangerous goods. For Indian shippers and freight forwarders, the additional air cargo capacity from Dubai could provide more options for time-sensitive shipments connecting India with markets across Europe, Africa and Central Asia.
