New Push on Critical Minerals & Aerospace
News: India and Canada have restarted economic cooperation with new long-term partnerships in critical minerals, clean energy and aerospace.
The agreements were announced after the 7th Ministerial Dialogue on Trade and Investment (MDTI) held in New Delhi from November 11–14, attended by India’s Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and Canada’s Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu.
Both sides committed to building resilient supply chains for critical minerals, expanding clean-energy collaboration, and exploring deeper engagement in aerospace and dual-use technologies.
The ministers reaffirmed continuity in bilateral ties, noting that two-way trade reached USD 23.66 billion in 2024, supported by strong Canadian institutional investment in India.
They also stressed diversifying supply chains, maintaining a stable investment environment, and strengthening people-to-people links.
