Based on three years of data from over 46 million SMEs across the U.S., UK, and Japan, the report identifies manufacturing as the most vulnerable sector, with cyber risk scores 11.7% below the global average due to automation and sensitive intellectual property.
Public administration and education sectors also face rising threats, with ransomware attacks on schools up 70% in the past year. Cowbell CEO Jack Kudale warns that interconnectivity and AI are fueling increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks.
